UAE petrol prices set to fall in May

If you drive a vehicle in the UAE, there’s some good news as petrol prices are decreasing in May with Diesel seeing an increase of 1.49 per cent.

From May 1, fuel prices for Super 98 will be Dhs3.66 per litre, down from Dhs3.74 per litre in April. Additionally, Special 95 will be priced at Dhs3.55 per litre, down from Dhs3.62 in April .

Diesel will see an increase in prices to Dhs4.08 per litre, up from Dhs4.02 in April.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Prior to that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
