The SIIMA Awards ceremony is being held in Abu Dhabi for the first time in its 6 years duration. Being the 6 th year of the award distribution, it’s being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on June 30th and July 1st. The event is being backed by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, which seems like a good thing as it might turn out to be more of a colorful blast than previous award ceremonies. The co-event organizer in UAE is Sunray Events while the sponsors are Etihad Airways and Royal Arabian Tours, whereas the Title sponsorship is taken over by VIVO.
The programme will be attended by more than 600 people all over from the South Indian Film Industry. The awards will be distributed in order to felicitate the best performers of the year 2016. SIIMA chairperson Brinda Prasad and her husband Vishnuvardhan Induri have been the masterminds in deciding the location for the award ceremony. The most attractive part of the event, as said by ERA Entertainment director, Anand P. Waindeshkar is going to be the VR (Virtual Reality) live telecast, through a 360° camera.
The news about the location confirmation was given by Award winning actor Jayram Ravi, Shriya Saran, Rana Daggubatti and Director Vijay who were at a press conference while promoting his upcoming movie ‘Vanamagan’ releasing on May 19, 2017. Rana Daggubatti, who had a good experience in Abu Dhabi on his previous visit for the Bollywood movie ‘BABY’ appreciated the decision of choosing the rightful location and congratulated SIIMA for bringing the South Indian Film Industry close by such fun means.
