Navigating through Dubai is not quite an easy task especially if you intend on taking public transport since people prefer to take private vehicles. But you can still find taxis, buses or mini-vans to travel through the city. Here is a look at the transport system available in Dubai.

Buses

Abra-Ferry

It is a cheap and effective way to travel across the creek. It looks similar to a half boat half raft structure. The harbour showcases the usual hustle and bustle of the gulf. If you visit creek, do take an Abra to cross the creek which divides the city. It is a short and inexpensive service that helps to cross between the main city and Deira on the opposite shore. Plus a travel across the mesmerizing waters will calm any troubled minds. It also gifts to tourists some of the most enticing views.

It is a traditional Arabian sailing vessel and was used in the middle ages as a means of transporting heavy items like fruits/vegetables, fresh water or merchandise along the coasts of the Arabian.

The long awaited tram is now opened. It opened in November 2014. To get to it go to Jumeriah Lake Towers Station or DAMAC Properties Station. You can avail the tram service to Al Sufouh, Dubai Marina & Dubai Media City areas.
